Hazrat Imam Muhammad Baqar (a.s)

Hazrat Imam Muhammad ibn Ali al-Baqir (a.s), known as Baqir al-Ulum (the Splitter and Expounder of Knowledge), is the fifth Imam. Born in Medina in 57 AH, he inaugurated the great academic awakening of the Ahl al-Bayt, formulating foundational Islamic jurisprudence, hadith sciences, and theology. He is laid to rest in Jannat al-Baqi, Medina.
