Hazrat Imam Jafer-e-Sadiq (a.s)

Hazrat Imam Ja'far ibn Muhammad al-Sadiq (a.s) is the sixth Imam and the namesake of the Ja'fari school of jurisprudence. Under his guidance in Medina, an immense university flourished where thousands of scholars—including Jabir ibn Hayyan (Geber) and Abu Hanifa—studied sciences, theology, logic, and law. He is buried in Jannat al-Baqi, Medina.
