Fourteen Centuries of Genealogical Continuity
The Zaidi Sadaat of Talhar, District Badin, represent one of the oldest and most meticulously preserved genealogical lineages in Sindh, Pakistan. Tracing directly through forty-five unbroken generations to Generation 1, anchored by Ameer-Ul-Momineen Hazrat Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (a.s) and Syeda Fatima Zahra (s.a) through Hazrat Zaid ibn Ali Shahid (a.s), this family archive encapsulates fourteen centuries of ancestral memory.
During the first four centuries of Islamic history, descendants of the Ahl al-Bayt resided primarily within the Arabian Peninsula and southern Iraq—notably Medina, Kufa, Basra, and Wasit. Political shifts and regional upheavals during the Umayyad and Abbasid eras prompted historical migrations eastward into the Iranian plateau (Khorasan, Nishapur, and Sabzevar) and Central Asian crossroads.
By the 11th through 14th centuries, scholars, saints, and hereditary custodians from this lineage crossed into the fertile Indus River basin. In Sindh, historic settlements were recorded in Thatta, Rohri, and Matiari, before permanent ancestral estates and custody were established in Talhar, District Badin. Historical works such as the Tuhfat-ul-Kiram and local manuscript scrolls corroborate the authenticity of this continuous line.
Today, descendants of the Talhar branch reside across Pakistan, the United Kingdom, North America, and the Gulf states. This digital lineage hub unites centuries-old handwritten scrolls with modern archival technology, ensuring accessibility and verification for present and future generations.
